Start the UDA section #
Hello and welcome to the new UDA section in Setpad. Here’s how to use the new UDA section.
The first thing to do is activate the UDA section feature in your project settings (under the Project Management tab). Then, still in the project settings, you can configure the various UDA parameters. These are the settings that will apply to the entire project.
You can enter the percentage of residuals, the number of episodes, the producer’s UDA number, the contract prefix, as well as the mileage rate.
You can also enter the name of the person responsible for preparing the payment statements, as well as the name of the person who will receive requests for timesheet corrections—i.e., the person the actor can contact to make corrections when their timesheet is sent to them.
Finally, you can enter the accounting codes for allowances related to specialized clothing and specialized equipment. Make sure to save your changes.
Inviting new collaborators and permissions #
You will notice in the Project Management tab that collaborators and responsibilities have been added with the “Artists” section.
Just like with crew contracts, you maintain control over who can view the artists’ contracts and their payment statements.
You will see that, just like for other collaborators, you can invite three new collaborators by entering their email addresses: a second Assistant Director and two third Assistant Directors.
Establishing the UDA Functions Chart #
In the Crew List tab, you will need to set up the UDA chart in the Function Chart. If you are starting a new project with the UDA section enabled, you will already see the Actors department in place. This is the standard UDA template. You can always modify the roles chart as well as the code for your artists by clicking on the role.
However, if you already have an ongoing project and you add the UDA section, you will see a button: “Add the UDA chart to an existing production.” By clicking this button, the standard UDA chart will be added to your existing chart. If you want to start from a blank chart, do not click the button; instead, click “Add a new position.” At that point, you will build your own chart as you go, using only the required roles with your own codes.
You are now ready to work with the new UDA section in Setpad and can start entering your artists!
