Start the UDA section #
Hello and welcome to the new UDA section in Setpad. Here’s how to implement the new UDA section.
The first thing to do once the UDA section has been enabled by a member of our team in your project is to set up the various aspects of the UDA in the Project Options (in the Project Management tab). This is the information that will be established for the entire project.
You can enter the percentage of sequel rights, the number of episodes, the producer’s UDA number, the contract prefix and the mileage rate.
You will also be able to enter the name of the person responsible for preparing payment statements, as well as the name of the person who will receive timesheet correction requests, i.e. who the actor will be able to contact to make corrections when their timesheet is sent to them.
Finally, you will be able to enter the accounting items for allowances for specialized clothing and specialized equipment. Be sure to save.
Inviting new collaborators and permissions #
You will notice in the Project Management tab that collaborators and responsibilities have been added with the “Artists” section.
Just like with team contracts, you maintain control over who can see artist contracts and their payment statements.
You will find that you can invite, in the same way as for other collaborators by entering their email address, three new collaborators: second Assistant Director and two third Assistant Directors.
Establishing the UDA Functions Chart #
In the Crew List tab, you’ll need to set up the UDA in the Functions Charter.
If you’re starting a project from scratch with the UDA section, you’ll already see the Actors Department in place. This is the generic UDA Functions Chart. You can always edit the functions chart and the code for your artists by clicking on the function.
If, on the other hand, you already have a project in progress and you add the UDA section, you will find a button: Add the UDA functions chart to an existing production. By clicking on the button, the generic UDA chart will be added to your Functions Chart. If, however, you want to start from an empty chart, do not click the button, but rather click “Add new function”. At that point, you will create your own chart as you go, using only the necessary positions with your codes.
You are now ready to work with the new UDA section in Setpad and can go enter your artists!
